The Intelligence of Nature

How I Fell in Love with Homeopathic Remedies

When I started my studies in Homeopathy, I had only been to a Homeopath once.

A succulent rosette, leaves spiralling from the centre

I had taken some Arnica and heard about Homeopaths from close friends. I was drawn to study this subject, and looking back, I believe it was because of the vibration of remedies.

All my life, I have been magnetised by plants and their myriad appearances, their ability to heal and poison, and the way they allow us to stand in awe of creation.

Minerals have enchanted me as the very substance that creates the earth we stand on, our bones, and gives us the ability to adorn ourselves.

I have also been drawn into the animal kingdom and the various aspects of myself that I recognise within them.

Never in my wildest imagination did I know that Homeopathy catches the very essence of these kingdoms and, as it were, captures these vibrations as remedies that allow us to open up to Healing on many levels.

My first weekend of school, Mr Sulphur took me into the world of the rugged philosopher.

I believe I can still smell him whenever I hear the word Sulphur.

After that, I had to purchase loads of remedies, and the weekend spent with Helios Homeopathic Pharmacy, succussing and triturating, felt like being part of history, part of alchemy, part of a Healing art that was profound yet simple.

From the substance, to the vibration, to the remedy, to me and the postman, and my quirky drawer of remedies gifted to me by my children as a vote of confidence in my new field of study, every part felt connected to something much larger.

At first, I was lost in the vibrational aspect of it all, a sort of intuitive magic that surrounded me as I read remedy pictures, acquired remedies and took some remedies myself.

I felt as though I was participating in the evolutionary process of the earth, but also in the evolution of the field of Homeopathy itself.

Every remedy felt like an extension of my neural network into the kingdoms of nature and opened me up to a new part of existence, but also to the myriad spirit-like forms that inhabit the human realm.

I discovered that Sulphur would not necessarily be the cure-all, but rather part of the volcanic eruption that came before the earth settled into fertile ground, where seeds could once again take root.

The remedies became more than substances. They became expressions of nature, patterns, and states of being.

The deeper I went into Homeopathy, the more I realised that this Healing art is both ancient and ever-evolving to meet us where we are in our evolution.

It is a meeting place between the Healing that nature offers and humanity.

This is what continues to inspire me to forever be a dedicated student of this vast field.

I remain humbled by the remedies, by the kingdoms from which they arise, and by the previous Homeopaths and those I meet along the way, humans who are willing to move deeply into fields of wisdom offered firstly by creation itself and honed by generations of masters.

The more I learn, the more I realise there is always more to discover.

This continues in The Art of Listening.
