When you write to me or book a session, you trust me with personal information, and sometimes with things you have not told anyone else. This page explains what I keep, why, and what you can ask of me.
Find My Remedy is the practice of Elizabeth Berkhout, offering Homeopathy and Hakomi Therapy in Oxford and online. I am responsible for the information you share with me, which in data protection law makes me the “data controller”. You can reach me at info@findmyremedy.co.uk.
Please do not send detailed health information through the contact form. There is plenty of time for that in a session.
I use your information to answer your questions, arrange and give your sessions, keep proper records of your care, and take payment. The law allows this because it is needed to provide the service you have asked for.
Information about your health is given extra protection by law. I only collect it with your explicit consent, which you give before your first session, and I only use it for your care.
I do not use your information for marketing, and I never sell it or share it for that purpose.
Questions that do not lead to a booking are deleted within twelve months. Case notes and records of your care are kept for seven years after our last session, in line with professional guidance, and then securely deleted. Records for anyone under eighteen are kept until their twenty-fifth birthday.
Paper notes are kept locked away, and digital records are kept on password-protected devices and accounts. WhatsApp and ordinary email are convenient, but they are not the most private way to share sensitive details, so please bear that in mind.
You can ask to see the information I hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted where I am not required to keep it. You can withdraw your consent at any time, although that may mean I cannot continue working with you. Write to me at info@findmyremedy.co.uk and I will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, please tell me first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
